Blockage-Aware Flow Control in E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity for QoS Enhancement

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication included in new radio (NR) provides high throughput to meet the stringent requirements of modern applications. However, its performance is highly dependent on whether obstacles are blocking line-of-sight (LOS) paths. Blockages LOS paths jeopardize reliable connections. E-UTRA-NR dual connectivity (EN-DC) one option for managing unstable using robust long-term evolution (LTE) as well mmWave NR. EN-DC aggregates and utilizes multiple links provide a better quality service (QoS) users. strongly affected by flow control due possibility out-of-order packet delivery at data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer. In this paper, we propose blockage-aware scheme (BAFC) that appropriately responds dynamics presence mobile blockages improves users’ QoS. To end, also develop PDCP scheduling schemes satisfy various QoS requirements. Through extensive simulations, verify BAFC exploits over 99% sum capacity average under rapidly changing channels blockages. Moreover, combined with achieves higher or reduces latency up 43.9% minimal degradation.
